Mandatory Vaccine for certain healthcare workers
The government has announced that the COVID-19 vaccine will become a legal requirement of employment for certain healthcare workers from 1st April 2022.
This means that unvaccinated staff will need to have had their first dose by Thursday 3rd February 2022, so they are able to receive their second dose by the deadline.
As an NHS organisation, St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust must comply with this legislation.
We are not alone in this, it’s something that all health and social care providers across public, independent and private sectors are facing.
We want to approach it in the right way, together. The Trust is supporting staff in a number of ways:
Walk-In Clinics
There are now 2 walk-in clinics at Nightingale House, Whiston Hospital AND The Totally Wicked Stadium, St Helens where you can get vaccinated for 1st,2nd, 3rd or booster doses.
Just take your ID badge with you when you go.
Supporting You
There is lots of support and resource available to help you make an informed decision about getting vaccinated.
Please see the home page of the staff intranet for more
Talk to Us
We are always here to support you. If you are still unsure about getting the vaccine, please telephone the STHK Covid Vaccine Support Line: 0151 676 5713 (open Mon-Fri, 7am-7pm) to speak to a trained clinician.
