Advanced notice of changes to staff testing – with effect from Tuesday 3rd May
From Tuesday 3rd May 2022, the following changes will be made to staff COVID testing procedures:
Symptomatic staff members will no longer be required to have a PCR test, but must undertake a Lateral Flow Device Test (LFD).
Staff who have had contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 will no longer be required to have a PCR test, but must undertake a Lateral Flow Device Test (LFD).
In both circumstances, staff must inform their line manager immediately and continue to follow the Trust’s Self Isolation Guidance.
Lateral Flow Devices are available to order from the Government portal which provides free LFD tests to NHS staff: https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests
ALL staff are advised to have at least a 5 day supply of LFD tests available at home at all times.
The above procedures will come into effect from Tuesday 3rd May. Until that date staff should continue to follow the Trust’s current self-isolation guidance and confirm a positive result with a PCR test arranged through the Self-Isolation Team: https://covid.sthk.nhs.uk/self-isolation-guidance/. This guidance will be updated to reflect the new process Tuesday 3rd May 2022.
