Staff Update 20/06/22

In today’s update:

  • PPE guidance for patients and visitors
  • Risk Assessment Guidance for Pregnant Trust Staff

PPE guidance for patients and visitors

Recent changes to PPE apply to both staff, patients and visitors.

Details of PPE requirements for staff can be found here: What to wear and when – STHK COVID-19 Guidance).

For patients and visitors, masks/face covering no longer need to be routinely worn in most areas of our hospitals.

However, on Ward 2A, including Satchi Suite, and the Lilac Centre, visitors and patients attending for appointments must still wear as mask/face covering in order to protect other vulnerable patients in these areas.

Patients with suspected or confirmed respiratory infection (including COVID-19) must wear a type IIR surgical mask, if tolerated, whilst transferring to between wards/departments.

Patients with symptoms of respiratory infection who are required to attend for emergency assessment/treatment must wear a facemask/covering, if tolerated, or offered one on arrival.

Signage is clearly marked in these areas.
