Staff Update 20/05/20

Social distancing and IPC measures for inpatients and treatment areas

Please ensure that social distancing guidance is followed by all patients within wards and treatment areas. All beds have been confirmed to be 2m apart from side to side and foot to foot within the 4 bedded bays.
Please ensure this also applies to treatment chairs and trolleys. This allows for patients who are not symptomatic, but are awaiting the results of a COVID admission screening swab, to adhere to national guidance with regard to social distancing.

Please also ensure that the appropriate PPE is worn and changed between patients.

Use of fans within Trust premises

During the pandemic, staff should not use fans or other air circulating equipment (including Dyson fans) to reduce the temperature in their area. This is in line with national Infection Prevention and Guidance.

This includes all wards, clinics and offices. If you are within the hospitals and experiencing problems with the temperature due to the hot weather, then please report this through the VINCI Facilities helpdesk on ext. 1188.
