Staff Vaccinations – second dose appointments
As of Monday 8th March, the Vaccination Hub at Nightingale House will deliver the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination to staff for all those who received their first vaccination at the venue.
The first dose vaccination programme has been extremely efficient and it is now possible to bring forward appointments for staff requiring their second dose.
You will be contacted in the coming weeks with your revised appointment. Only in exceptional circumstances will we be able to rearrange this date, please do not contact the team unless absolutely necessary.
If you have not yet had the first dose of the vaccine, please book your appointment to receive the Oxford Astra/Zeneca vaccine now click here. DO NOT use this link to rearrange your second dose appointment.
All first dose appointments will now be at St Helens Rugby League Ground.
Asymptomatic testing – LAMP Testing
LAMP testing is to be introduced across the Trust in the coming weeks and will eventually replace Lateral Flow Device Testing (LFD) for asymptomatic staff.
This new test involves providing samples of saliva once a week and is therefore less invasive than the LFD test.
You will shortly receive an email to your Trust account inviting you to take part in this new COVID-19 asymptomatic testing.
If you require any further information, or would like to view the instructions on how to register or take your samples, please visit the LAMP Testing webpage on the COVID site: https://covid.sthk.nhs.uk/lamp-testing/

Scrubs
Staff are reminded to wear one set of scrubs per shift and only change if they become soiled.
Scrubs are to be left at the hospitals and cleaned by our laundry service.
The process is as follows:
- Place used scrubs in a red alginate bag (provided in the changing room)
- Put this in the white bag in the disposal hold
- The scrubs are then collected, cleaned and put back into circulation
Do not leave scrubs on the floor or anywhere else.
Do not leave the hospital wearing scrubs.
