Latest changes to COVID-19 guidance
What has changed:
- Testing of asymptomatic patients prior to discharge to care homes – all patients must be tested by LFD rather than PCR in the 48h prior to discharge. LFDs can be obtained via the Discharge Co-ordinators Discharge Pathways – STHK COVID-19 Guidance.
- Testing of asymptomatic patients for COVID-19 prior to elective admission is no longer required.
- Testing of symptomatic staff:
- Staff who do not work on 2A or Lilac Centre no longer need to be tested for COVID-19 if symptomatic but should remain off work /at home until without fever for 48h AND are feeling well.
- Staff who work on 2A or Lilac Centre should remain off work if symptomatic and carry out an LFD.

Patient test results on CareFlow
A reminder that COVID test results for patients are recorded on CareFlow and it is the responsibility of the clinical teams caring for the patient to review the test results in a timely manner.
The Microbiology laboratory does not routinely telephone positive COVID results to wards/departments.
