Changes to COVID testing guidance

Please note that changes have been made to testing guidance for planned activity and non-elective admissions.

COVID-19 Autumn Booster Vaccination Clinic – opens Monday


Boosters are Back

GET PROTECTED. STAY PROTECTED.

From Monday 12th September 2022, ALL frontline staff working at STHK (including NWAS Colleagues) can receive their Autumn COVID-19 Booster at our dedicated staff vaccination clinic.

When: Monday to Friday,
             7.30am – 12.15pm & 1.30pm – 7.15pm


Where: Room 5, Nightingale House, Whiston Hospital

No appointment needed, staff can simply attend the walk-in clinic during the times above.

You MUST bring your work ID badge or a current payslip to have your vaccination.

Staff must be over the age of 18 and have had the first 2 primary COVID-19 vaccinations.

Those staff who still require any of their primary COVID-19 vaccinations (1st or 2nd dose) can also attend, please see details of vaccines below.

Autumn Booster

The Moderna Bivalent vaccine will be used for ALL Autumn Booster doses.

Notes:           Staff must have completed their Primary vaccine course (1st and 2nd dose).

It must be a minimum of 12 weeks since your last COVID-19 vaccination for you to be eligible.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, it must be at least 28 days since the date of the positive test for you to be eligible for vaccination.

Staff must be generally fit and well with no signs of fever.

1st and 2nd Primary Vaccines dose

The Pfizer vaccine will be used for any primary vaccination doses.

Notes:           It must be a minimum of 12 weeks since your last COVID-19 vaccination for you to be eligible.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, it must be at least 28 days since the date of the positive test for you to be eligible for vaccination.

Staff must be generally fit and well with no signs of fever.

Please note: Individuals with previous Anaphylaxis or severe allergies related to Pfizer or Moderna vaccines will not be able to have their vaccinations within the Trust.

Information regarding vaccination sites with Allergy Clinics who will provide vaccination advice and guidance will be published shortly – The Astra Zeneca Vaccine is no longer available for use in these circumstances and a suitable alternative will be available shortly.

FLU JABS

The Flu vaccination Programme will commence at the Trust at the end of September. 
Currently there are no plans to hold joint COVID/Flu vaccination clinics, so please do not delay having your Autumn COVID-19 Booster. 
More information about how to have your flu jab will be circulated in the coming weeks.
