Promoting Mental Health and Wellbeing of BAME Staff, through COVID and beyond
The RCN are holding a webinar on Thursday 11th March 2021, 13:30 – 15:00. This is for BAME Nurses, Midwives and Care Staff, for all Directors of Nursing and/or Deputies. The webinar is a follow-up to their virtual event held last year November- ‘Supporting Our BAME Nursing and Midwifery Workforce through COVID 19.’
The webinar will address Mental Health and Wellbeing and update you on the evidence as to why this area of work is important. Most of all the RCN would like to hear how things are going for you as we enter a period of recovery and restoration, and what more needs to be done, to ensure all staff are supported and protected as you work. The chat facility will be functional for you to pose your questions.

STAFF COVID VACCINATIONS
First dose vaccine
83% of staff have had their first vaccination against COVID-19 so far, and although this is fantastic, there is still a long way to go.
We understand that some staff members under the age of 35, who are fit and healthy, may be delaying getting the vaccine or considering not having it at all.
The Trust is urging all staff, regardless of age, to have their vaccine. Please watch this special video message from Dr Paul Stockton, Respiratory Consultant explaining why every member of staff should be protected.
(Password: STHKcovid19)
The vaccines are a key tool in keeping staff safe and ultimately we hope everyone will be vaccinated. However, for many staff the chance to talk this through with someone privately is crucial to making an informed decision.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email them to: communications@sthk.nhs.uk and we will put them to Vaccination Programme Medical Director, Professor Kevin Hardy, who will answer them direct and in confidence.
Second dose vaccine
From today Monday 8th March, the staff vaccination programme will begin second dose appointments for the Pfizer vaccination at NIGHTINGALE HOUSE, WHISTON HOSPITAL.
All second dose Pfizer vaccinations will be delivered at Nightingale House, Whiston Hospital.
If you have received an appointment reminder by text or email, asking you to attend the St Helens Rugby Stadium for your SECOND DOSE APPOINTMENT, please ignore this message and attend NIGHTINGALE HOUSE at your allocated appointment time.
Oxford Vaccine Trial
If you took part in the Oxford Vaccine Trial, and have subsequently found out that you received the vaccine as part of this trial, please remember to email: esr.helpdesk@sthk.nhs.uk and inform the team that you do not need further COVID-19 vaccinations.
