- Visiting restrictions
- Equipment decontamination
- Car Sharing
Visiting restrictions remain in place
Can we please remind all staff that as the Covid infection rate remains high visiting continues to be suspended at all our hospitals to keep our patients, visitors and staff safe.
Only the following exceptions have been made where one visitor is permitted
- Visiting a patient receiving end of life care
- A parent / responsible adult visiting a child
- Supporting a patient with mental health or learning disabilities
- A birthing partner accompanying a woman in labour
This must be agreed with the nurse / midwife in charge of the ward / department
No other visitors are permitted to visit any other ward/department at any time.
Equipment decontamination
ALL medical devices, regardless of Covid status, should be decontaminated according to Trust decontamination policy and labelled with the appropriate Blue decontamination form.
Equipment not correctly labelled will not be accepted for return which could then lead to treatment delays
Car sharing
Where possible staff should try not to share a vehicle with those outside your household or support bubble.
If you need to do this, please follow national guidance:
- share the transport with the same people each time
- open windows for ventilation
- the driver and all passengers must wear a face mask
- maximise distance between people in the vehicle
- face away from each other
- clean your car between journeys using standard cleaning products – make sure you clean door handles and other areas that people may touch
- wash your hands for at least 20 seconds or sanitise your hands often, and always when exiting or re-entering your vehicle
