Fit Testing

From Monday 12th October, fit testing is being provided by the Trust for staff who require Fit testing of FFP3 masks.
The testing will be undertaken using fit testing equipment and the test should take approximately 45 mins.

Clinical staff who may require use of FFP3 masks for aerosol generating procedures should have a fit test completed, so that the correct PPE can be provided.
For details on who/ when you should wear FFP3 mask, please refer to webpage: https://covid.sthk.nhs.uk/what-to-wear-and-when/  (Password: STHKcovid19)

You can access Fit Testing through local fit tester trained within your departments.
Alternatively, you can access the centralised fit test service which will be available from Ward 5B, Seminar Room, Whiston Hospital (ext. 6471)
You can book a suitable time between 9AM and 15:00 PM (Mon- Fri)

For enquiries and booking your time slot, please contact Georgia Keegan –  ext 1781 or email: fit.test@sthk.nhs.uk.
Upon completion of fit testing, you will be provided with advice on the most appropriate respirator which you could use.

All staff should be tested on FFP3 – 3M  1863+, which is the main stock currently available at the Trust (Oct 2020). If you have been  previously tested on other make/ model of FFP3, kindly book for retest on 1863+.
