Recording Patient Ethnicity
It is vitally important that all patients have their ethnicity recorded in the patient details section on Medway.
This is a mandatory requirement and enables the Trust to identify if patients from vulnerable groups are not accessing our services. The information gathered will then enable us to address this.
Guidelines for pregnant staff – updated 12th August 2020
Staff who are 28 weeks pregnant or more (in their third trimester), or who have an underlying health condition – such as heart or lung disease – no longer need to shield but are recommended to work from home. This may present opportunities to work flexibly from home in a different capacity, for example by undertaking telephone or videoconference consultations, or taking on administrative duties.
The Trust are looking at how we can maximise the potential for homeworking to allow many pregnant staff to continue to make an active and valuable contribution to the challenges facing the Trust, whether at home or in the workplace, until the commencement of their maternity leave.
Over the next few weeks the Trust will look to establish what technology and support will be required to enable this contribution to happen. In the meantime, pregnant staff, in their third trimester who are unable to do their current job from home will be Medical suspended until the beginning of their maternity leave unless alternative duties can be sourced.
Test and Trace Flowchart
There are two ways in which staff can be contacted, for testing and tracing:
- Via the Trust if a member of staff has tested positive
- Via email/text/phone if a member of staff has been in contact with a member of the public that has tested positive.
The process for both situations has now been updated and can be viewed on the staff covid website here
