Today’s staff update is below:
- PPE use following staff risk assessments
- Disruption to COVID PCR (antigen) testing
PPE USE FOLLOWING STAFF RISK ASSESSMENTS
The Trust is reviewing risk assessments for all staff groups on an on-going basis in relation to any significant medical conditions and other risk factors.
As a result of the risk assessments, staff may be advised to wear different types of PPE to their colleagues working in the same area or doing the same procedure(s).
If there are any concerns about PPE usage, please raise these with your line manager.
DISRUPTION TO COVID PCR (ANTIGEN) TESTING
There is currently a delay on COVID PCR (antigen) testing due to failure of the main testing platform instrument failure. Contingency plan is in operation.
Until further notice, the turnaround time for COVID 19 PCR results is at least 48 hours from the time of receipt of the specimen in the Whiston Microbiology Laboratory.
We are working to resolve this issue as a matter of urgency.
Rapid testing is not available at present.
Thank you for your patience.
