SOCIAL DISTANCING

We understand that social distancing may not be possible in clinical situations, but staff are reminded that at all other times social distancing guidelines MUST be followed.
e.g. when on breaks in staff rooms or break out areas, when arriving or leaving work, walking from the car parks, walking around the hospitals etc

Guidance is as follows:

  • stay 2m apart
  • only 2 people in a lift
  • 1 person through the revolving doors
  • 1 person per table in the restaurant
  • DO NOT sit closer than 2 metres in break out areas or staff rooms
  • Respect people’s space in queues in the restaurants, costa and WH Smith
  • Follow directions arrows around the buildings
  • DO NOT sit outside in groups

ISOLATION PRECAUTIONS

Isolation precautions can be discontinued 14 days after the date of the positive test (not date of onset of symptoms) if there has been:

  • clinical improvement with at least some respiratory recovery
  • absence of fever (> 37.8°C) for 48 hours
  • no underlying severe immunosuppression

If the patient has severe immunosuppression or has received intensive care during the current admission, isolation precautions must be continued until complete resolution of symptoms or a repeat test for COVID-19, taken more than 14 days after the last positive test, is negative.
In such patients, if the patient is found to be still positive on repeat testing, and they remain as an inpatient, isolation precautions should be continued and the patient retested every 7 days until a negative result is obtained before isolation precautions can be discontinued.

CAR PARKING CHARGES

The Trust has taken the decision to extend the period of free car parking for staff until the end of July 2020.
If you normally have car park charges deducted from your pay, this will not appear on your payslip as a deduction and you will be notified when this will be reinstated.

#HiddenHospitalHeroes

From processing payrolls, to implementing terms and conditions for the significant number of new starters that joined us during the pandemic, the superstars in the Employment Services have been working to support not just our staff, but Trusts right across Cheshire and Merseyside.

With over 110 staff working remotely, it has been no small feat to ensure that all the necessary systems and processes are in place for the many temporary changes required, but they have managed superbly and all whilst still delivering the demanding workload during the usual end and start of a new financial year.

Iceland Priority Delivery for NHS Staff

Iceland are offering NHS staff priority delivery slots to help ensure that staff are able to access food deliveries on a regular basis, without the need to visit stores after long shifts.

The arrangements for priority access to online shopping with Iceland are described below:

  • About the offer: Iceland is offering NHS staff regular access to dedicated online weekly shopping slots. These are every Friday at 9am to 11am, for deliveries the following Monday.
  • Who is it for: NHS staff
  • How have codes been allocated? Iceland has made available 1.5m personal passphrases for NHS staff. A proportion of the 1.5m passphrases has been allocated to each STP region based on the place-based method used to calculate transformation funding.
Codes have then been allocated to individual Trusts, based on the number of employees they have.
  • How to use the offer: Individuals who would like to use the offer, should register for an account on Iceland’s website: https://www.iceland.co.uk/account/register.
Once your account is set up, there will be an option of entering a ‘personal passphrase’ in the ‘My Account’ area. You should enter your personal passphrase (made up of three words).  This will enable you to access priority delivery slots for NHS staff.
  • Once you have entered the passphrase into your account, the offer remains unlocked for the user and you should be able to access the offer of priority slots, on an ongoing basis.

To retrieve your personal passphrase please email  icelandpromotion@sthk.nhs.uk
